Background: Acute pancreatitis, an acute in flammatory condition, is caused by quickly activation of enzymes in the pancreatic acinar cells. Early nutritional support plays an important role in preventing serious complications and ensuring optimal recovery in patients with acute pancreatitis and malnutrition, in this article, review the findings of 5 randomised controlled trials (RCTs) In which investigators compared the outcomes of enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition in patients with acute pancreatitis and discuss the implications of the results of these studies for current nursing practice.
